Bishop to Celebrate Special Mass for 100th Anniversary of Legion of Mary

The 100th Anniversary of the Legion of Mary will be marked Sept. 18 at a special Mass at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena celebrated by Bishop Alfred Schlert.

The Mass and Consecration to our Blessed Mother will begin at 1 p.m., preceded by a half-hour of Rosary and Legion prayers. There will be a reception afterward.

In preparation for the event, a 34-day Novena is already under way. Each day on the Diocese’s Facebook page, a priest of the Diocese leads the faithful in prayer in a video posted on the site.

Previous prayer videos in the ongoing series can be seen here.

The Legion of Mary is a lay association of the faithful that fosters devotion to the Blessed Mother. Gina Alegado-Gonzales represents the Legion chapter in our Diocese.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to legionofmaryallentown@gmail.com. The Mass also will be livestreamed on AD Today.

You may download the prayers for the Novena at this link.
