World-Famous Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima Coming to Diocese

Seven parishes and a prayer center in the Diocese of Allentown will host the international Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima May 18-27.

This historic image of Our Lady has been traveling worldwide since 1947, when it set forth from Fatima to take her message of hope and peace to a world in need after World War II.

The image was blessed by the Bishop of Fatima, who prayed that Our Lady’s presence would accompany the statue on her travels. In 1952, it was blessed by Pope Pius XII.

The statue has visited 100 countries, including Russia and China, and is primarily how the message of Fatima spread throughout the world.
