Responding to Growing Need, Catholic Charities Enhances Leadership Structure

Responding to a growing need for social services, Catholic Charities has enhanced its leadership structure to ensure that it can best serve people in need throughout the five counties of the Diocese of Allentown.

Andrea Kochan Neagle, a lawyer with 26 years of administration and leadership experience, has been named to the new position of Managing Director.

Neagle will lead Catholic Charities and oversee its day-to-day operations, including strategic planning, human resources, finances, as well as advancement and marketing.

The current executive director, Rob Nicolella, has been named to the new position of Executive Director of Social Services. He will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s program development, for improving service to clients, and for enhancing community outreach.

“These changes help position Catholic Charities for future growth, and for the innovative program design and delivery that will meet the future needs of the communities we serve,” said Lisa Geosits, board chair.

Most recently, Neagle served as executive director of Design IP, an intellectual property law firm in Allentown, where she was responsible for financial management and human resources, among other duties. She previously worked as a litigation attorney at firms in Philadelphia and in Washington, D.C. and has served on the board of Catholic Charities as a director and vice chair as well as serving as gala chairperson. Neagle is a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Northampton and is also affiliated with St. Joseph the Worker parish in Orefield.

Catholic Charities has been helping people in need throughout Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties, for more than 60 years. Last year, it served well over 9,000 people with counseling, food, clothing, housing, and other assistance.
