Defending Our Faith: The ‘Why’ Behind the Church’s Teaching on Abortion

If you’ve ever been faced with defending the Catholic Church’s position on abortion and couldn’t find the words, the “Defending Our Faith Forum” is for you.

Father Stephan Isaac will explain the Church’s teaching on the protection of life, explain the “why” behind that teaching, and provide advice on refuting many popular pro-abortion arguments, when he speaks at the “Defending Our Faith Forum” Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. at Assumption BVM Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem.

The forum is the first in a series of programs designed to help people better understand current issues in the Church.

Defending Our Faith is sponsored by the Allentown Area of the Knights of Malta. The Order of Malta is a lay Catholic organization known for its caring of the sick and the poor, and for its defense of the faith.

“The ‘why’ behind the Church’s teaching on abortion is particularly important,” said Father Isaac, Assistant Pastor of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown and chaplain of Allentown Central Catholic High School. “It’s really helpful for anyone who wants to respond to pro-abortion arguments they may hear on social media, or from family and friends.”

All ages are invited to attend. The event is free. A reception will follow, at 4 p.m. at the church. Please register so there is an accurate count for refreshments.
