Dr. Brooke Cortese Tesché will leave her position as Chancellor for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Allentown to take a new regional opportunity in special education.
Dr. Tesché has accepted a position as Special Education Supervisor at Colonial Intermediate Unit 20.
“I am deeply grateful to Dr. Tesché for her dedicated service as a leader in our diocesan school system,” said Bishop Alfred Schlert. “Her enthusiasm, commitment to the mission of Catholic education, and advocacy for the education of all students entrusted to her care are attributes to be commended. We wish her every grace and blessing as she undertakes this new endeavor in her professional life.”
Dr. Philip Fromuth will continue in his role as Superintendent of Catholic Education for the Diocese. He has held the position for the past 19 years.
Dr. Tesché previously served as Deputy Superintendent, Secondary Education and Special Education in the Diocese. It was her vision which led to the founding of Kolbe Academy, the nation’s first faith-based recovery high school, which opened in Bethlehem in September 2019. She has been with the Diocese of Allentown since 2012.
She is a former Director of Special Education in the Hatboro Horsham School District, a former Special Education Supervisor in the Easton Area School District, and has served in special education roles in other districts throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
She is a graduate of West Chester University and St. Joseph’s University, she earned her Doctorate in Education from Immaculata University, and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from DeSales University.
