A driving rain lashed at the large tent sheltering about 75 of the faithful at Saturday’s Mass for Memorial Day, which was celebrated by Bishop Alfred Schlert. The commemorative Mass took place at Holy Saviour Cemetery on Linden Street in Bethlehem.

June is a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a time when Catholics are grateful for Jesus’ merciful heart and His redeeming love for mankind. This year, the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated on Friday, June 24.

Bishop Alfred Schlert will celebrate Mass on the grounds of Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m., in commemoration of Memorial Day, a federal holiday dedicated to mourning those who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
